Coleen came 2nd to the Tories in Dale Ward.
Coleen's campaign gets outstanding support in Elloughton & Brough but not gets quite enough votes to win the third seat from the Conservatives.
The main reason seems to be, once again, down to some voters using local elections to send a message to national Goverment instead of voting for someone who works for them locally and not a political party.
For example Labours vote in the ward has gone from 288, in 2007 to 1013.* This is despite them not putting out a single leaflet and hence not having any desire to be elected. (*Figure based on the highest vote for Labours top candidate.)
The final result for Dale Ward was: (Surname/Votes cast)
BRIDGE (Labour): 1013
DAVISON (Lib Dem): 646
GALBRAITH (Con): 2925 -ELECTED
GILL (Independent): 2046
HOWORTH (Labour): 934-ELECTED
KAY (Lib Dem: 1084
LUCKCRAFT (Lib Dem): 566
SMITH (Con): 2603 - ELECTED
TURNER (Labour): 888
Because of your vote, Coleen has now an excellent base to build on ready for the next local elections in 4 years time.
In the meantime she is still a member of Elloughton & Brough Parish Council and Chairman and volunteer of the In Bloom Team' Please feel free to contact her about any Council issues.
The Conservatives now have 53 out of the 67 seats across the East Riding with the reminder held by the Independents, Labour & the Lib-Dems.
Is this healthy?
Let Coleen know what you think.
